Bruce is FINALLY ready for the next EVIL DEAD???

As I reported a while back, Sam Raimi mentioned that he may be ready for the next EVIL DEAD film while he was at the San Diego Comic Con. Is this something to get all worked up over? Maybe so!...Read on for more to see what Bruce has to say about all this...

“When he’s ready, I’m ready,” star Bruce Campbell told MTV News.

While nothing remains written or planned, Campbell and Raimi have actually discussed the long-anticipated movie at length, the man with the million dollar chin insisted, saying that they already have a basic idea of where to take Ash, the poor S-Mart clerk who’s already narrowly survived three adventures - the last of which, “Army of Darkness,” got released in 1992.

Part of that plan, naturally, involves accounting for the fact that the last “Evil Dead” movie got released in 1992.

“Sam gets to hide behind the camera. I can’t. But I think he’s planning on factoring that in,” Campbell revealed. “As like a major factor. It’d be a major liability, you know Ash runs out of breath or his back goes out and [stuff] like that. I mean I just blew my hamstring fighting a stunt guy for ‘Burn Notice,’ the show that I’m doing now. So there’s a little bit of truth to all of that!”

An older Ash? Why not, Campbell asked, especially given that this has truly been the year of the aging action star, what with movies like “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Indiana Jones” showcasing senior citizen commandos.

About those two movies though while we’re talking about them – you know those annoying characters played by Shia LaBeouf and Justin Long? The young sidekick character? Yeah, not so much gonna happen in “Evil Dead,” Campbell declared.

“I think the audience would be insulted if you did, because then you feel this obvious pressure to appeal,” he said. “The beauty of the ‘Evil Dead’ movies is that you’re only appealing to one demographic and that’s people who like horror movies. And you just have to please them. You don’t have to appeal to the studio. You’re already pleasing them by giving them part 4.”
Of course, for all his declarations, everything is just “smoke and mirrors at this point,” the actor said jokingly. But is there anything definitive he can tell us about “Evil Dead 4”?

“Nobody knows anything,” he said. “I mean if we were really smart [though], we’d go back to a handheld movie and shoot it in 16mm and find someplace in the middle of nowhere. And have a crew of 10 people. If we were smart.”

A note from HORROR CHICK:
Right ON! Stick to your guns Bruce!....We DON'T want ANY YOUNG SIDEKICKS! WE KNOW YOU KICK ASS WAAAAYYYYY MORE than INDIANA JONES and BRUCE WILLIS COMBINED!!!!

AND to Sam and BRUCE...I think the release of MY NAME IS BRUCE will prove how much we want to see BRUCE CAMPBELL come back to the BIG SCREEN as the MAIN CHARACTER!!!

Make the next EVIL DEAD FILM for PETE's SAKE! We already own ALL 75 versions of it on DVD!!!!

Play with BRUCE as Sam Axe from BURN NOTICE

Go to this site NOW!

Sam's Stash

It's a great interactive game that let's you hang with Bruce's character SAM from Burn Notice. He shares amusing stories about his spy past while you tour his cluttered storage unit full of prized momentos!

WATCH BURN NOTICE!

If you're NOT watching BURN NOTICE- you better start! Bruce Campbell stars as Sam Axe- a former Navy Seal, Military Intel Operative, and all-around Cold Warrior. In his prime he was point man on an array of armed conflicts the world over. He worked with Michael (main ex-spy character) many times during those heady days. When Michael reconnects with him in Miami, Sam has embraced his post-espionage days by letting loose. Once, he loved the threadbare world of secret surveillance in the communist bloc, or forward recon in the touch-and-go Middle East.

Now, he has moved on to mojitos, Sugar Mommas and bikini watching in the bars and on the sands of South Beach. He's reliable and consistent, in the way that you can count on a former spy to dig up solid intel and execute missions with stealthy aplomb. Despite his predilection for rich divorcées and cocktails, he is an asset to Michael, even when he becomes an informant for the FBI. Though the Feds have Sam keeping an eye on Michael, he needs Sam's friendship, partnership, and expertise, now more than ever.

**Bruce brings his GREAT sense of humor to this role and I love tuning in EVERY THURSDAY at 10pm on the USA network to watch him in action!!!**

There MAY be an EVIL DEAD IV???? WTF?

I found this interesting blurb from DETROIT FREE PRESS about Sam Raimi seriously working on EVIL DEAD IV! ...WITH BRUCE!!!!

I would ONLY see it if BRUCE is featured as ASH. I don't think he's too old to play ASH. He KICKED ASS as "OLD ELVIS" in BUBBA HO-TEP didn't he? HELL YEAH!

Read on for more....

From DETROIT FREE PRESS:

From the San Diego Comic-Con comes news that "Spider-Man" director, Detroit-bred Sam Raimi, announced that he's getting back together with actor Bruce Campbell for a fourth installment of their "Evil Dead" franchise.

Remember -- the zombie-manic series has been dormant since 1992's "Army of Darkness."

During the Com-Con, Raimi -- who was promoting his upcoming flick, "Drag Me to Hell" not about Detroit, incidentally -- told fans that Part IV of "ED" is "in the wheelhouse. I love working with Bruce Campbell. ... He's super willing to do anything to make it right. He's a very funny guy, but mostly he's got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right.

"I'd love to make another 'Evil Dead' picture. And actually that's in the wheelhouse. I'd like to work on it with my brother Ivan when he comes up next week."
